When a man with mint-green eyes steps from a lake and offers to rescue Danii’s dog in exchange for three days of total obedience, it’s obvious he must be either joking or crazy. And, being a police officer, she knows how to handle the crazies.
But when it comes to Heketoro, she’s the one being handled. Each day their lovemaking becomes wilder and Danii discovers exactly how far this man can take her. Though the tattoos drawing themselves on his body make it clear he’s not quite human, to Danii what’s more important is their burgeoning love for each other.
An ancient curse prevents Heketoro from returning to his world. With one last ritual of love needed to break this curse, Heketoro’s enemies return and threaten to destroy him by using his only weakness -- Danii. Will love, or their enemies, triumph?
Danii takes her little cocker spaniel “Killer” and the neighbor's dalmatian for a walk around the lake near her home. When she accidentally lets go of the dalmatian, said dog decides to go for a swim in the mossy lake and gets trapped on the island that sits in the middle of the lake. Danii may be a tough cop but her Achilles heel getting into the lake, she is afraid of drowning. As if from nowhere, a man appears, introduces himself as Heketoro and offers his help with a proviso or a gift as he calls it. Heketoro wants Danii to do as he bids for three days. She doesn’t believe he is serious and does agree when it’s evident she isn’t going to be able to rescue the dog without his assistance. Once the dog is rescued Heketoro makes it clear to Danii just how serious he is and then disappears. There was a mystical, magical quality surrounding this man and she half convinces herself that he was a figment of her imagination. Then there is the fact that a man looking almost identical to Heketoro has in her erotic dreams for some time.
We are delighted to welcome Cari Silverwood to BLI today to talk about a kinky subject related to Iron Dominance, her August 2011 Loose ID publication. Iron Dominance was released to rave reviews and has been nominated in 4 Categories in the Authors After Dark 2012 Bookie Awards!
Cari lives in Australia, with her lovely family including a prerequisite teenager who dwells in the dark bedroom catacombs…a husband who raises eyebrows when he catches glimpses of what she writes, and a furry menagerie of other animals barking, meowing, and swimming about the place.
Before writing her first novel, Three Days of Dominance she had never dipped her little toes in the hot and lust-swirled sea of erotica. Now every time she turns around, there’s some new character making her write down their story in the most lurid way. Her people are quite adamant about explaining creative new ways of making love, so she doubts she'll run out of ideas anytime soon, though she may go cross-eyed.
*Note*: Cari's post is for adult's 18 years and older!! ;)
Take it away Cari!
One of the fun things about writing is that readers seem to find things in stories that the writer never knew was there. Or at least had no idea it was so enthralling. When you’re writing erotic romance the discoveries can be quite curious to say the least!
One well known erotic author has gone so far as to say that authors tend to put into their stories their own fantasies. I’m not saying this is utterly true as I know some write what they see as popular at the time rather than what they truly want to write.
On the other side of the coin, it takes two to read a book. Yes, the writer has to make the book come alive, but…the reader has to glue eyes to paper also. No, not literally, silly, my insurance doesn’t cover the cost of unsticking eyeballs. In other words, how much is revealed of the reader’s kinks? What if you find something that wasn’t really there in BIG letters? Maybe that says more about you, the reader?
Is it all just me? Especially when a reader says they intend to make the corset from Iron Dominance, my steampunk erotic romance?
“In a tall mirror, she saw herself, dressed in a black corset paneled with satin. Coming down from a halter, pearl ropes fanned out over each breast with her nipples peeking out between. A tiny skirt of chiffon, divided at the crotch, barely made it as far as her upper thighs. Lines of seed pearls undulated down the satin, and a string of larger pearls dived deeply between her legs, emphasizing the split lips of her sex. She could feel it run up between the cheeks of her bottom at the back. Even as she looked, she felt a renewed throb, for every movement she made, from breath to heartbeat to shift of feet, moved the line of pearls and rubbed against her clit.”
Okay, so I did go on a bit about the corset, but only for your sakes. It’s not my kink *g*
My favourite piece of fetish clothes in the story would be the red leather jacket with buckles and straps Claire dons before going out on a gyrocopter picnic with Theo, my delicious aristocratic Dom. I mean who wouldn’t fall for a man with a gyrocopter launch pad next to his bedroom?
“Dark gray leggings went under a strapless white bustier that fastened between her breasts with gold hooks. Next, fitting snugly over the top, came a maroon leather jacket with a flared bottom and a flock of straps and buckles down the arms and front. Completing the ensemble were ankle-high black boots, maroon gloves, a pair of gleaming brass goggles, and an ivory and gold hair clip to hold her hair in a ponytail. Goggles swinging from her hand, she went in search of the gyrocopter.”
The jacket comes in handy, or as one reviewer on Goodreads said, “I want a naked, bondage picnic!”
“…the clink of buckle and slide of leather fed into the growing tightness along her arms, from wrists to elbows, where they lined up against each other. She couldn’t separate them. He was buckling them together, no other explanation possible.
More straps. Restraining me.
Lord. This, then, was the control he’d spoken of. Not utter and complete—she could move—but closer than he’d taken her before. Every part of her sang like a soprano on the highest note and came alive. Theo bit her neck. Electricity swept sizzling through her, from top to bottom. Yes. Oh, God, yes…
“Hinchcliff and Co. do make very nice clothing. I think you’ll agree?”
She half-groaned out her reply. “Yes.”
She looked down at herself, where her breasts jutted out, and felt wetness seeping from between her legs, near where her buttocks rested on her heels. She was naked except for the jacket and pushed-down leggings.”
Any drooling over these fetish clothes is in your imagination. I only put the words there. Absolutely nothing to do with me.
Fetishism is the attribution of power to an object. Sexual fetishism is the attribution of sexual significance to an object, such as clothes. Wearing such clothes is intended to make the wearer more desirable, and perhaps heighten sensation, or in the case of BDSM, even be a part of a scene.
Of course there are all manner of fetish clothes out there in real life and one of the best examples of fetish clothes on display is at the Montreal Fetish Weekend.
Unfortunately Hinchcliff and Co from my story is not a real shop but here’s a corset I found recently on the net that I’d love to put in my next story:
Raised from childhood as an assassin, Claire finds her world knocked off kilter when Theo Kevonis, a rich, ex-Air Corp nobleman, rescues her from an airship crash. Being a soldier of a hostile nation she cannot reveal her identity. Theo sinks his steely Dom fingers into her heart and soul, showing her the pleasures to be found in surrendering to his touch. Captivated, Claire binds herself in lie after lie rather than risk losing the one man who’s ever loved her.
When her loathsome commander returns from the dead, her deceit is uncovered. Despairing and in anguish, Claire must find a way to win back Theo's trust and destroy the man who threatens them both.

Welcome to a new week of The Good, the Bad and the Are-You-Kidding-Me? This week’s topic pretty much jumped at our feet! It’s by pure chance that I saw a pretty review copy of Fool Moon on Netgalley and I knew I had to read it! I just couldn’t look away from such a pretty cover. So it was only logical that we would start talking about graphic novel covers with you today! We chose covers of series we know and loved/hated.
Heartsick over the untimely death of her mother, Allison Caldwell is blindsided again by the secret revealed in her mom’s will. Her supposedly dead father is alive, and she and her two sisters must find him in order to settle the Caldwell estate.
Robert Rivera, private investigator and former Navy SEAL, alerts Allison to new intel identifying her father as a P.O.W. in Afghanistan. With her sisters out of the country pursuing leads, Allison insists on heading to the war-ravaged country to find him. Robert doesn’t want his naïve client to take the risk. He knows what danger lays in that godforsaken land…he’s lived through it. Barely.
But Allison is determined to go, and Robert can’t let her travel alone. Reluctantly appreciative, Allison quickly realizes how much she needs his guidance and protection, and how deeply she longs for his love. Robert struggles to understand her effect on his battle-weary heart.
The path to Allison’s father is blocked by terrorists, traps and treachery—all demons of Robert’s past. Can he survive a second round with the enemy and keep Allison out of harm’s way?
If you are familiar with the Lucianne Rivers’ Caldwell Sisters Trilogy, you will know the stories surround the quest of the three female siblings to find their long lost father Zack. The girls' mother has recently passed away and she always believed that her husband had been killed. However, prior her death, she received information that he was, in fact, alive and she put this weird codicil in her will stipulating that the sisters must find their father so the family estate could be settled—divided between the three girls and their father Zach. Entice Me is Book #3 in the trilogy and the youngest sister 25-year-old Allison’s story.
We are delighted to welcome Lucianne Rivers to BLI today today as part of her Entangled Publishing Blog Tour in celebration of the release of her Caldwell Sisters Romantic Suspense series. Hold Me and Thrill Me, and Entice Me are now available and have met with excellent reviews. Lucianne has a facinating CV, a former stage and television actress, she now writes romantic suspense for Entangled Publishing and Cobblestone Press. Lucianne now manages a non-profit and is New Mexico State Champion in her weight class for Olympic style weightlifting. Long story. Recently she has taken up Crossfit, Jiu Jitsu and boxing. Born and raised in Ireland, Lucianne currently lives in New Mexico with her young daughter.
When I chose to write about Margo Caldwell, the heroine of THRILL ME (wedged between HOLD ME & ENTICE ME), I didn't realize how much I wanted to be her; to live vicariously through her as her writer. Margo has just made detective at the Santa Fe Police Department, which means she's been a patrol officer for the requisite five years. Prior to that she went through the NM Law Enforcement Academy for five months of residential (except for weekends) training. Prior still, she passed the Santa Fe Police fitness test: 1.5 mile run in 15 mins 45 secs, a 300 meter sprint in only 71 secs, 32 sit-ups in a minute followed by 23 push-ups. Then she took a written test, and oral exam, a physical exam and a psychological
screening. All to be paid under $20 an hour, working graveyard shift (11pm-7am) with sporadic days off having abuse hurled at you by the dregs of society. So why does she do it? Because she's a badass, that's why. Margo loves a challenge. There is nothing she can't do if she sets her mind to it. Including falling in love, which she does the same way she does everything else: all or nothing.

Book Blurb:
Harry Dresden`s life is a mess. His top client (and close friend), Lt. Karrin Murphy, no longer trusts him. Chicago`s underworld and the cops alike think he's mobster Johnny Marcone's supernatural enforcer. And the enigmatic White Council continues to view him with suspicion. If all that weren't enough, a pack of werewolves have unleashed a wave of terror on the Windy City. But as is always the case when it comes to the creatures of the Nevernever, there's far more going on than meets the eye. Before it's all over, Harry will find himself caught between friends, enemies, and arcane forces bent on his destruction. Is it any wonder he can't find a date?
Expanding on Book Two of Jim Butcher's New York Times bestselling saga, and featuring writer Mark Powers and artist Chase Conley, Fool Moon collects the first half of the 8-issue series in one volume, complete with bonus material and a cover gallery.
My Thoughts:
I really love Harry Dresden, I do (understatement of the year). I've read all the books in this series and there's just ONE book I disliked and it was Fool Moon. I didn't hate it obviously since I kept reading but the more I thought about it the more annoyed at it I got. I ended up telling everyone to "please keep reading because the series got better after that one". When my fellow Book Lover Jackie read it she didn't dislike it as much as I did, so I realized that maybe I should try to give it another chance. Here's the reason why I jumped on the occasion to review Fool Moon Volume 1: I'm giving this book a Second Chance!
So I haven't had the chance to read much lately , so I am currently running short on ideas for Bookish Eye Candy. So I had the idea, What Books would you like to see on Bookish Eye Candy? And who do you think would be perfect to portray the Hero and Heroines? Then we'll share with everyone and see who their thoughts would be. Hows that sound?
I can't wait to see what Books you guys suggest, and all the yummy Eye Candy!!!

Welcome to this week’s news post and it has been pretty quiet in the publishing news front, but we do have some exciting links and trailers such as the full Hunger Games trailer that actually looks good!
A few weeks ago I reported that Amazon had launched a lending library amongst its Prime customers for the Kindle. Well it looks like that the Authors Guild is unhappy with this new development because of the issue of royalties and a breach of contract of sales. However none of the Big Six publishers are involved with this scheme and the smaller and independent publisher’s have refused to join the Author’s Guild complaints about boycotting this venture. I think this is disagreement is going to run and run, but I do hope there will be a resolution to this.
Genre Publisher, Angry Robot is going to launch a new YA imprint, which will be edited by blogger who use to write for Floor-to-ceiling books. The imprint will be called Strange Chemistry and like its adult counterpart will concentrate on Sci Fi and Speculative and Fantasy fiction.
